Steps for Exterior House Painting

Set-up	You prepare the outside of your home by removing deck furniture or anything else that would be in the way of the painting project. Plants are protected with drop cloths and tape and doors and windows are masked.
Pre-Clean	Areas with nasty mildew are bleached, scrubbed and only then are either power washed or hand washed to remove dirt and mildew. Bleach needs time to kill the fungus, I don’t do a superficial power wash, I solve the fungus problem first, then power wash. Note: most all painters cut corners and do a superficial quickie powerwash- but bleach needs time to soak in and kill the fungus, and only then be rinsed.
Prepare	I follow proven prep and painting systems that tend to overkill and the results last for years. Most repair areas are over-fixed with multiple applications of spackle, caulk, and primers. Of course, all loose paint is scraped and more than you’d expect. I’ll chase down cracks here and there- stuff other painters will try to ignore.
Paint	Using great materials, I’ll deliver great results- mildew, peeling paint and nasty cracks will be gone, replaced with a shiny luster of fresh quality paint. Step outside and admire the view as your house looks great. I'll use careful protection of services that are NOT to receive paint, such as decks, porches, patios, brick, windows, driveways, roofing, etc. Siding and soffits are painted with two coats of premium exterior paint. Trim; i.e. fascia boards, shutters, doors, garage door trim, porch posts, etc. are brushed with 2 coats of premium exterior paint.
Clean	As the work progresses, clean-up is performed. At the end of the day, the clutter is picked up, and your home is as tidy as it can be. Work items are stored in a tidy manner. Your job site is picked up at the end of each day and all materials, tools and equipment are put in an area designated by you, perhaps in a section of your garage for weather-proof ease. At the end of the job, all masking materials, painting materials, trash, etc. are cleaned up and thrown away. You'll have no mess left behind.
Inspect	You’ll be able to inspect and see all the effort and diligence, from start to fantastic finish.
